Omega Speedmaster First Omega in Space | Ref. 310.30.40.50.06.001 with Card
The Omega Speedmaster First Omega in Space Ref. 310.30.40.50.06.001 is a modern tribute to the Speedmaster CK 2998 worn by astronaut Walter Schirra aboard the Sigma 7 mission on October 3, 1962, marking the first time an Omega watch was worn in space. This contemporary interpretation preserves the distinctive proportions and styling of the second-generation Speedmaster while incorporating Omega’s modern movement technology and materials.
The watch features a compact 39.7mm stainless-steel case paired with a black anodized-aluminum tachymeter bezel featuring the vintage-inspired Dot Over Ninety configuration. A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal is shaped to resemble the domed Hesalite crystals found on vintage Speedmasters, providing the traditional appearance with the added durability of sapphire.
The Vintage-inspired Alpha hands, applied hour markers, and warm-toned Super-LumiNova reinforce the connection to the original CK 2998. Three recessed subdials provide running seconds at 9 o’clock, a 30-minute chronograph counter at 3 o’clock, and a 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock.
Completing the watch is a stainless-steel flat-link bracelet with a folding clasp and Omega’s comfort-adjustment system. The combination of its smaller 39.7mm dimensions, historically inspired styling, grey-blue dial, and modern Calibre 3861 makes this First Omega in Space a distinctive alternative to the traditional 42mm Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch.
Condition
Please review the photos carefully for an accurate representation. Light scratches, bracelet wear, bezel wear, crystal wear, or other signs of use consistent with age may be present and do not affect functionality. The watch presents well overall with expected wear for its age.
